After winning Miss Vietnam 1992, she went to South Korea to joined in Miss World University 1993 where she placed in the Top 5 and won Miss Taejon award.

International 1998 held in Egypt. In this contest she won 3 awards: the 1st runner-up, Best in Evening Gown and Miss Photogenic.

She graduated from Faculty of Economics of Ho Chi Minh City Open University and went to study in Singapore.Currently, she held the Director of printing and advertising Anh Vietnamese. + She started to compete in the beauty contest in 1992 and won the title of Miss Student Ha Noi. After that she tried for the crown at Asia Model Look 1995, she made to the top 10 and won Most Phhotogenic award.

+ Mai Phuong is the first beauty from Hai Phong crowned Miss Vietnam Pageant. Before competing the Miss Vietnam 2002, Mai Phuong tried to join in other two beauty contests. Firstly, she joined to Miss Hai Phong 2002, she was selected the top 10 most beautiful girl with the title of Miss Aodai award. Then, Mai Phuong and other 9 beauties from Hai Phong participated Miss North Vietnam 2002, in this contest she crowned the title.

+ When she has round 16, she signed up to attend Miss Photo Vietnam 2000 but later she withdrew. Few months after she tried again in Miss South Vietnam Pageant in 2000 and won the title. She continued confidence contest Miss Vietnam 2000, the unexpected happened when Ha Chii final stop at No. 4.
+ In 2003 she was selected by Elite to represent Vietnam to attend Miss Earth Pageant in the Philippines, she was the last contestant to enter the pagetant and not winning any awards for competition although during the contest she was one of the favorites.
+ Together with Le Minh Phuong, she was selected by Gloabeauties site in the top 100 most beautiful girls in 2003 around the world.

Hoang Ngoc Khanh was selected in the top 10 most beautiful girls and winning Best Long Gown award. Although not a winner in the contest, but in 2004 she represented Vietnam in Miss Universe Pageant in Ecuador.
+ Returning from the Miss Universe with none of award, nor any into the top 15 most beautiful contestants, Ngoc continued registration to Supermodel Vietnam 2004 Contest, and in this competition she was the winner after winning The Gold award at Vietnam Supermodel Northern region.
